How we connect and communicate has never been more important than in the last year. The COVID-19 pandemic has obviously strained our ability to congregate and share time with each other. Nonetheless, the SNACC Communications Committee has stepped up to the challenge and worked diligently over the past year to facilitate connections for and provide information to SNACC members
We began the year with a successful SNACC-JNA Journal Club, which brought together ideas and people from all over the country, from all specialties and backgrounds. We will continue this tradition and Drs. Ib Adedgube and Kate Rosenblatt will help our effort. See their announcement below. As the COVID-19 surged in New York, California and Washington, members of the Communications Committee helped write SNACC-endorsed articles for stroke and neurosurgery safety practice recommendations in the JNA. Drs. Reza Gorji and Arney Abcejo helped curate COVID guidelines and recommendations into our SNACC website. Dr. Abcejo also worked closely with the APSF as their website medical director to continue to engage with patient safety and keep SNACC in the front of perioperative neurosurgical and neurologic patient safety.
The SNACC virtual Annual Meeting was incredibly successful and the Communications Committee helped with all facets of planning, marketing, and connecting. Our SNACC social media has exploded online — especially with Dr. Jacqueline Morano, who has taken over our Instagram account. We continue to work and engage with all other SNACC committees to focus and deliver SNACC's messaging and missions.
As we navigate the persistent challenges ahead of us over the next several months, know that the SNACC Communications Committee will continue to help keep us connected and informed. We are in this together, and together we will get through it.
Please feel free to contact any member of the fantastic SNACC Communications Committee if you want to be more engaged, have improvements to connect us all, or have any questions.
SNACC-JNA Twitter Journal Club

SAVE THE DATE: Tuesday, January 12, 2021
The inaugural joint SNACC-JNA Twitter Journal Club was launched earlier this year with much engagement and interaction both within and outside the SNACC community. International experts shared the experience, and we also garnered interest from our neurosurgical colleagues! The cross-pollination of ideas and practices around the world allowed us as a community to collectively review academic research and add to our repertoire of techniques to improve patient care and experience.
We are, therefore, excited about relaunching this initiative in January 2021 to coincide with the release of the next JNA issue. It will be held over a 12-hour period to include everyone from all time zones. We also hope to coordinate with our colleagues at the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society (CAS) as well for a large, robust discussion. We hope you will join us for what promises to be another exciting international journal club event.
